Job Summary
A lead teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to learn and grow through their experiences. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program with a nature focus that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with the Sonflower Christian Preschool policies. The person will also be intentional with students and co-workers to create a program where students experience and explore their world around them with the support of staff.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
● Plan developmentally appropriate activities in accordance with curriculum objectives
● Provide a safe and engaging environment that cultivates learning through meaningful experiences
● Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures as stated in the school handbook
● Facilitate student learning and development and assess at designated times
● Keep accurate and complete records of student progress and meet all applicable licensing regulations
● Maintain regular communication with co-workers and families
● Model Christian values and beliefs to staff, students, and families
● Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Sonflower Christian Preschool board
Job Skills and Qualifications
● Lead Teacher Qualified- minimum Level 3 in Early Childhood Certification
● CPR and First Aid Certified
● Support school’s Mission, Vision, and Values
● Possess strong oral and written communication skills
● Team mindset
● 2 or more years of experience
