SUMMARY

CNC Mill Machinist sets up, operates and programs CNC Mills, OMAX 5 axis Waterjet, completes machining operations and makes adjustments as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setup 3, 4, and operate 5th axis and water jet.
• Operate CNC Machining Centers and Manual Mills when necessary.
• Able to trouble shoot production and setup problems.
• Able to write basic CNC programs.
• Work from set-up sheets, blueprints sketches etc.
• Verify CNC programs by running First Article Part for QA approval.
• Able to use all types of shop floor inspection equipment to inspect parts.
• Keep machines, work area, and equipment clean and free of debris.
• Properly maintains coolant as necessary, including removal of containments, proper dilution ratio and cleaning and recharging machine of coolant when necessary or when requested by supervisor.
• Have knowledge of ISO and Aerospace standards - preferred
• All other job duties and responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• The ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings is necessary

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Degree or diploma from college or vocational school in CNC machining is strongly desired and most preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years as a CNC Machine Operator / Set up

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

• The ability to read and write in English at a level necessary for successful job performance.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

• Familiarity with the basic operation of CNC machines and the understanding of G and M code is required.
• Familiarity with computers running a Windows operating system running standard Windows applications is desired.
