The Firm & Opportunity
An elite AmLaw 20 firm is seeking a Funds Associate (3rd–5th year) to join its private investment funds team in San Francisco.
The team advises fund sponsors, emerging managers, institutional investors, and other private capital clients on the full range of fund formation and ongoing advisory work, including venture, growth equity, buyout, and hybrid strategies.
You will work closely with experienced partners on sophisticated matters within a collaborative, bi-coastal practice. The firm offers market-leading compensation, a strong national platform, and clear opportunities for development within a high-performing group.
Key Requirements
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with strong academic performance
- Active California Bar admission; New York Bar admission is a plus
- 3rd–5th year associate
- Experience in private fund formation, ideally with exposure to sponsor-side mandates (fund structuring, formation, and ongoing sponsor advisory)
- Strong drafting skills and familiarity with fund documentation and investor negotiations
- Prior experience at an elite law firm or within a Chambers-ranked Funds practice preferred
