Job Description – SQL API Developer
We are looking for a skilled SQL API Developer with strong expertise in SQL Server and Azure Data Factory to design, develop, and maintain high-performance data APIs and integration workflows. The ideal candidate will build secure, scalable APIs that interact with SQL Server databases and support data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration using Azure Data Factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that interact with SQL Server databases.
- Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support API operations.
- Develop and manage Azure Data Factory pipelines for data ingestion and orchestration.
- Integrate APIs with ADF pipelines using REST, HTTP, or database connectors.
- Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of SQL Server–backed APIs.
- Implement data validation, error handling, logging, and exception management.
- Optimize SQL Server database performance through indexing, query tuning, and best practices.
- Collaborate with front-end, application, and data teams to define API and data requirements.
- Support data migration and integration solutions involving on-prem and Azure environments.
- Maintain API and database technical documentation.
- Follow security, governance, and compliance standards for APIs and databases.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a SQL Developer, API Developer, or Backend Developer.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs (e.g., .NET Web API, Java, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and data integration patterns.
- Experience with SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, API keys, etc.).
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database or SQL Managed Instance.
