Role Overview
Key Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure Strategy & Integration Design
- Conduct IT infrastructure due diligence across both entities—assessing network topology, hosting environments, identity management, security postures, and application dependencies.
- Develop target-state architecture and phased integration roadmaps for hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Define infrastructure integration blueprints for network interconnectivity, Active Directory forest consolidation, DNS migration, and endpoint standardization.
- Lead data center consolidation or migration (on-prem → on-prem, on-prem → cloud, or hybrid models).
- Develop detailed cutover, rollback, and coexistence strategies during transition phases.
2. Technical Design & Solution Ownership
- Architect hybrid infrastructure spanning on-prem, private cloud, and public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Standardize platform and service models—IaaS, PaaS, containers, Kubernetes, and serverless—to support modernization.
- Design network interconnectivity using VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, and SD-WAN solutions between merged organizations.
- Lead identity and access integration, including AD forest/domain consolidation, Azure AD Connect, SSO, and federation (SAML/OAuth/OpenID).
- Define and implement data migration frameworks (storage tiering, replication, backup, and archival) with minimal downtime.
- Establish monitoring, observability, and automation frameworks leveraging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
3. Security, Compliance, and Governance
- Collaborate with security architects to align on Zero Trust, IAM, and network segmentation strategies during merger transitions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Implement configuration and patch management baselines (SCCM, Intune, WSUS, Ansible, or Terraform).
- Oversee vulnerability remediation, logging, and incident management in merged environments.
- Define DR/BCP architectures, RTO/RPO targets, and cross-site replication models.
4. Execution Oversight & Collaboration
- Translate integration architecture into actionable technical workstreams for infrastructure and DevOps teams.
- Collaborate with business units, program managers, and third-party vendors to align technical timelines and dependencies.
