Somic America is seeking a skilled and driven Production Control Manager to lead our Production Control department and ensure efficient, level, and cost-effective operations across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing all production control activities that support on-time, defect-free delivery to our customers while ensuring manufacturing has the materials and information needed to run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Production Control department and oversee daily operations. Ensure 100% on-time customer delivery and accurate, visible demand forecasting.
- Maintain secure flow of incoming materials and determine/maintain appropriate inventory buffers.
- Develop and implement systems that improve levelness, visibility, and error-proofing in production control processes.
- Manage, coach, and develop exempt and non-exempt team members, including performance reviews and development plans.
- Control departmental costs related to personnel, materials, logistics, and space.
- Support strong customer relationships and protect Somic America's long-term business interests.
- Serve as a resource for APQP activities and pre-production planning.
- Coordinate annual and bi-annual physical inventory, including preparation, execution, and reconciliation.
- Oversee offsite warehouse logistics and ensure effective inventory management.
- Prepare and manage Production Control KPIs and departmental reporting.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to resolve scheduling or packaging issues.
- Work with Sales and Manufacturing to develop and maintain packaging for Tier 1, WIP, and service parts; ensure adequate inventory of expendable packaging.
- Address employee concerns and escalate unresolved matters appropriately.
- Establish work procedures, schedules, and assignments while monitoring quality and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce errors, shortages, and operational issues.
- Travel as needed to support suppliers, customers, and company requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; 4–6 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change, multitask, and work under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly leads the Production Control team, including hiring, training, performance management, delegation of work, and resolution of employee concerns, in alignment with company policies and applicable laws.
