GVO Hospitality is seeking an experienced, poised Host to join the front-of-house team at Somerville, an upscale dining destination focused on exceptional service, thoughtful pacing, and elevated guest experiences. The Host is a critical ambassador of the brand and plays a key role in setting the tone of service. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated experience with OpenTable, SevenRooms, and Toast in a refined, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a warm, professional, and polished welcome to all guests
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest notes using OpenTable and SevenRooms
• Execute thoughtful seating strategies that support service flow and table pacing
• Accurately quote wait times and manage guest expectations with confidence and discretion
• Communicate closely with floor managers and service staff to maintain seamless operations
• Handle incoming calls and reservation inquiries with composure and hospitality
• Utilize reservation platform for guest profiles and notes as needed
• Maintain an immaculate, organized, and composed host stand throughout service
• Anticipate guest needs and contribute to an elevated dining experience from arrival to departure

Qualifications & Experience:

• 1 years of hosting experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant
• Proficiency with OpenTable, SevenRooms, and Toast (strongly preferred)
• Strong verbal communication and professional presence
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to remain calm, gracious, and solution-oriented under pressure
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods during service

Pay: $19.00 per hour
