25-26 Home/Hospital Tutors - High School

Job Goal: These positions will provide as needed educational services in a home or hospital when a student can not attend school due to an anticipated long term absence.

The home or hospital instruction provides the opportunity for a student to make educational progress even when it is determined that the student is unable to attend school. The tutor will provide a student with instruction that is necessary to enable the student to keep up in their courses of study and minimize the educational loss that might occur during the period the student is confined at home or in a hospital.

The tutor who provides home/hospital instruction to students will assist in coordinating the instructional content, approach and student progress with the student's teachers at school.  The school district will determine the number of instructional hours per day or per week based on the educational and medical needs of the individual student.  

Terms of Employment:

Schedule: Intermittent (September - June)

Assignments will be assigned according to the needs of the SHS student population

Reports to: The School Principal and the School Counseling Department Chair at SHS
