Summary
SUMMARY: To assist commercial loan officer(s) in all aspects of the commercial lending function. Preparing reports, memorandums, commercial loan worksheets, and any necessary documentation to complete the loan file for requesting commercial loan documents from the commercial loan processors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following; other duties may be assigned as needed.
Job requires maintenance capability for the bank’s main operating system and the department’s documentation systems.
Request personal and business financial information and respond to customer questions regarding requested information. This job requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in serving and assisting commercial customers.
Assist in the maintenance of the commercial portfolios as assigned.
Communicate with customers, attorneys, lenders, underwriters and credit analysts as necessary.
Verify financials received for accuracy and completeness before forwarding to the Commercial Lending Assistants for tracking purposes.
Verify new commercial loans for accuracy, before and after closing, and that all documents have been signed are on file with the bank.
Updating and maintaining the monthly/quarterly loan policy exception reporting, including any new policy exceptions and monitoring existing exceptions for the ability to remove them from the report tracking.
Prepare maturity and renewal forms including Customer Due Diligence and Beneficial Ownership documentation.
Prepare EDR reports, credit reports, flood reports, appraisals/in-house evaluations, property searches, HMDA when necessary.
Assist with commercial loan worksheets, and collateral charts for new loan requests that fall below the threshold to which an analysis is required. In addition, assist in managing the annual reviews for commercial loan officer on relationships that fall between $500,000 to $1,000,000.
Verify current insurance documents and contact agent if necessary.
Complete loan closing with customer in the absence of Loan Officer (may require travel).
Assist customers with account related questions (loans & deposits), establishing automatic payments, and/or requesting a business deposit account to be opened.
Understand and support all BSA/AML responsibilities as applicable to the position as well as consistently, accurately, and timely carry out these responsibilities in compliance with the Bank’s internal policies.
Serve as secondary contact for customers when commercial loan officer is otherwise not available.
Education and/or Experience
· Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
· Experience using DNA is preferred, but not required.
· Proficient in using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook
· Must be willing to learn new systems and adapt to emerging technologies
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Ability to read interpret documents such as procedure manuals and release notes
· Ability to write business correspondence, and policies using proper grammar and accurate spelling
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, bonuses, etc. using a calculator.
REASONING ABILITY
· Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Organizational priority setting, and decision-making skills are also required.
PHYSCIAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, telephones, etc.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
