Project Manager-PA AMMX Storage Tank Installations
Description: The Aboveground Storage Tank Installer is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient installation, modification, and repair of aboveground storage tanks used for fuel, chemicals, water, and other bulk liquids. This role involves reading technical drawings, preparing installation sites, assembling tanks and associated piping systems, and ensuring all work meets industry standards, environmental regulations, and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Lead staff on installation of aboveground storage tanks, piping, and other equipment.
- Communicate daily reports, photos, and documentation to engineering and design team
- Maintain schedules for workers and sub-contractors; Ensure product installation requirements are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Perform site preparation, including grading, layout, equipment staging, and ensuring proper secondary containment setup.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and installation specifications.
- Assemble and position tanks using cranes, rigging equipment, and hand tools.
- Fabricate, fit, and install piping connections, fuel lines, and mechanical fittings.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and system inspections.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, EPA/State environmental requirements, NFPA standards, and applicable fire codes.
- Maintain accurate installation records, inspection logs, and jobsite documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Troubleshoot and repair tanks, piping, and ancillary systems as needed.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and installation equipment in good working order.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (5) years’ experience preferred.
- Understanding of aboveground storage tank systems
- Knowledge of applicable codes NFPA, State, and Local
- Ability to understand mechanical concepts and tank system drawings
- Experience leading and motivating a crew on one or multiple concurrent installation projects
- Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operations
Requirements:
- PA DEP AMMX AST-Manufactured Metal-Tank/System Installation/Modification license required
o Licenses for other installation categories beneficial
o Licenses for other states beneficial
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Work Environment:
- Location: Primarily remote, In office as needed
- Work Hours: Full-time, Flexibility to work outside regular hours or travel as needed.
- Travel: Required to and from jobsites.
