Summary
We are seeking a Supervisor to join our team at the Somerset County Park Commission. Under the direction of the Stable Manager, the Supervisor will assist with the operation of a public horseback riding program, including administrative duties and managing personnel. Directly supervise full-time Stable workers and Stable Volunteers; at times may also direct the work of other Stable personnel. Will recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate, full-time and part-time Stable workers, Trail guides, and Stable worker volunteers. Will prepare annual performance appraisal criteria, evaluate job performance of direct report staff, and assist stable personnel with barn duties when extra help is needed, amongst other tasks
Responsibilities
- The Supervisor will assist with operating a public horseback riding program, including administrative duties, and managing personnel

Qualifications
- High school graduation and five years of experience in stable operations
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of horsemanship and stable operations required
- Ability to supervise staff, departmental programs, and to work with the general public is crucial Ability to adjust work schedule as required for the proper care of the horses
- Capacity to perform physical tasks under varying weather conditions
- Ability to use Microsoft office and possess other computer skills; able to use the office machines, and social media applications
- Must have a valid driver's license
