Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role based in Port St. Lucie, FL, for a Head Track & Field Coach. The Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the Track & Field program, including planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions to develop the skills and performance level of student-athletes. Responsibilities include assessing athletic ability, creating development plans, fostering teamwork, ensuring compliance with school and athletic association policies, and providing mentorship to athletes. The Head Coach will also be responsible for coordinating with assistant coaches, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all athletes during training and competitions.
Qualifications
- Proven coaching experience in Track & Field or a related sport
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities
- Knowledge of Track & Field rules, strategies, and training techniques
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and other staff members
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive training program
- Experience working with students or youth in an athletic or educational setting
- Ability to foster a positive and encouraging environment
- CPR and first aid certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred
