Mat Pilates Instructor – Healing Arts Studio

SomaSonder Wellness is seeking a Mat Pilates Instructor to lead a weekly class within our expanding Integrative Medicine Clinic & Healing Arts Studio—a space designed to bridge excellent clinical care with the Arts of Healing, including movement, somatic practices, and integrative therapies.
This role is ideal for an instructor who values working with individuals navigating chronic illness, nervous system dysregulation, and hypermobility, and who approaches movement as both a clinical and experiential practice.
Role Overview
- Lead 1 weekly mat Pilates class (with opportunity to expand)
- Create a supportive, regulated, and accessible class environment
- Adapt movement for clients with varying levels of capacity and complexity
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, integrative setting
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience teaching mat Pilates in small group settings
- Is comfortable working with hypermobile clients and understands joint stability, control, and safe range of motion
- Has experience with or openness to tactile cueing and hands-on correction to support alignment and proprioception
- Can modify movements for individuals with chronic illness, fatigue, or nervous system sensitivity
- Brings a calm, grounded, and attuned presence to the space
Preferred Qualifications
- Pilates certification (mat required; comprehensive preferred)
- Experience working with hypermobility (e.g., EDS spectrum), rehab populations, or chronic conditions
- Familiarity with somatic or nervous system–informed approaches to movement
- Professional liability insurance

This class will take place within a Healing Arts Studio designed to support the lived experience of chronic illness, where movement is approached as a tool for regulation, connection, and healing.

Compensation
- Contractor position
- Compensation: $45/class (room to grow, based on experience)
