Our client, a rapidly-growing mental health technology start-up, has exclusively retained Solutus Legal in its search for a Senior Product & Privacy Counsel to join the company’s legal team. This attorney will report to the General Counsel, and will work closely with the company’s Product, Engineering, Security, and Data teams.
As Senior Product & Privacy Counsel, this attorney will serve as the lead legal counsel for all of the Company’s product development efforts and the tech team more broadly. They will play a formative role in building out the Company’s product counseling function and shaping the future of their AI-enabled platform, which is empowering clinicians with new tools with the potential to vastly improve treatment. This role is at the center of the Company’s most transformative initiatives and will help drive the business. This person will be joining the company at a pivotal time, with the opportunity to help shape the team and company.

- Serving as the primary legal partner to our Product, Engineering, Security, and Data teams and creating a scalable, high-quality counseling function for these verticals
- Providing business-oriented legal and regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams
- Leading Grow’s privacy and data governance strategy and serving as our subject matter expert to ensure that Grow’s processes incorporate privacy by design and other key legal principles and frameworks
- Building key legal infrastructure—policies, playbooks, training, and self-serve tools—to support our growth
- Drafting and updating product and privacy-related agreements, terms of service, and other public-facing materials with an eye toward clarity, compliance, and brand integrity
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar
- 7 years of legal experience, with preferably 1 years of in-house experience in progressively responsible roles
- Experience in high-growth environments, with a knack for navigating ambiguity with high autonomy
- Hands-on leader, excited to get into the weeds and see projects through
- Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
- Background in product and data privacy, ideally with experience at a law firm or tech company
- Experience in AI-related advising and healthcare preferred but not required
- Comfort and familiarity with legal tech (such as a data privacy platform) a plus
The current targeted base salary for this position ranges from $275K - $300K, plus equity. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and years of directly relevant experience.
