Job Summary
Position Summary
The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree with a focus in Mechanical, Civil or General engineering experience. Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications
- Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages
- Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first
- Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance
- Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance
- Understanding design practices and work processes
- Using all software applications used in design
- Understanding industry and design standards
- Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system
- Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations
- Estimating material for projects
- Transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications
