Solstice is redefining how pharmaceutical companies commercialize their products through AI-powered marketing solutions. Here's why top finance leaders are joining us:

  • Proven enterprise traction: Working with pharma manufacturers 50 brands across oncology, rare disease, and specialty therapeutics with $30M ARR pipeline.
  • Frontier AI technology: Building at the cutting edge of generative AI for regulated industries to accelerate the process of launching campaigns for brand teams.
  • Top-tier backing: $25M raised from top tier investors us the runway to build a category-defining company and invest in elite operators.
  • Massive market opportunity: $10B addressable market in pharma marketing automation with clear expansion into adjacent workflows (medical writing, regulatory operations, clinical trial communications)

Building anything great requires rigorous financial thinking. We're looking for a strategic finance leader who can translate our ambitions into models, forecasts, and capital decisions that unlock the next phase of growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a Head of Strategic Finance to be the financial partner to our co-founders and executive team, owning everything from financial planning and analysis to fundraising support, revenue modeling, and investor relations. This is a high-trust, high-impact role for someone equally comfortable in a board deck and a spreadsheet.

You'll sit at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations, helping Solstice make better decisions faster as we scale from to $20M ARR. You'll work directly with co-founders Yiwen and Aris, touching every major strategic decision: pricing, headcount planning, capital deployment, go-to-market efficiency, and long-range modeling. Expect deep cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product, and Customer Success as we build the financial infrastructure to support a rapidly scaling enterprise business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Own the operating model: Build and maintain the company's integrated financial model: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, across multiple scenarios (base, bull, bear) with monthly variance analysis and board-level reporting
  • Drive annual planning: Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process in partnership with functional leaders, ensuring headcount plans, spend, and revenue targets are grounded in operational reality
  • Track unit economics: Define and monitor key SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, payback period, Rule of 40) and build dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into business health
  • Analyze GTM efficiency: Model sales productivity, pipeline coverage, quota attainment, and sales cycle economics to help leadership optimize the enterprise go-to-market motion

Strategic Finance

  • Support fundraising: Lead financial due diligence preparation for Series B and beyond, building investor-ready models, data rooms, and materials in partnership with founders
  • Run scenario analysis: Translate strategic options (new product lines, vertical expansion, M&A, pricing changes) into financial projections that inform board-level decision-making
  • Optimize capital allocation: Build frameworks for prioritizing investment across R&D, GTM, and G&A, ensuring spend is tied to measurable business outcomes and growth milestones
  • Manage cash and treasury: Oversee cash forecasting, banking relationships, and financial controls to maintain runway visibility and fiduciary discipline

Revenue and Commercial Finance

  • Model enterprise deals: Build ROI and business case frameworks for large customer contracts ($1M–5M ACV), consumption-based models, and pilot-to-production pricing structures
  • Pricing strategy: Partner with Sales and Product to develop scalable pricing architecture across modules, user tiers, and enterprise agreements, balancing growth with margin expansion
  • Commission and quota design: Architect sales compensation plans, quota structures, and commission modeling to incentivize the right behaviors as the team scales

Operations & Infrastructure

  • Build the finance function: Stand up foundational financial operations including AP/AR, payroll coordination, vendor management, and month-end close—initially as a hands-on operator, eventually hiring and delegating
  • Implement systems: Evaluate and deploy financial systems that automate reporting and scale with the business
  • Legal and compliance: Coordinate with outside counsel and auditors on entity structure, equity management (cap table, 409A, option grants), and financial compliance

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING

Strategic Finance and FP&A Expertise (Non-negotiable):

  • 4-8 years in strategic finance, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or FP&A roles, with at least 3 years inside a high-growth SaaS or enterprise technology company scaling from $5M to $50M ARR
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills: can build a three-statement model, bottoms-up ARR forecast, headcount plan, and cohort analysis from scratch and explain the assumptions clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of SaaS unit economics and enterprise GTM metrics: ARR/MRR, NRR, CAC payback, LTV/CAC, sales efficiency, and Rule of 40
  • Experience supporting fundraising processes (Series A, B, or growth equity)—building data rooms, managing investor diligence, and preparing executive presentations for institutional investors

Operator mindset and cross-functional fluency:

  • Track record as a finance business partner who influences decisions, not just reports on them. Comfortable challenging GTM leaders on pipeline assumptions, pushing back on hiring plans, and translating financial constraints into strategic options
  • Experience hiring and managing finance team members, or readiness to do so within 12 months as the function grows
  • Ability to operate at both the strategic level (long-range planning, board prep) and the tactical level (closing month-end, debugging a formula, managing vendor invoices) without ego

Technical fluency and analytical rigor:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and at least one FP&A or BI platform (Mosaic, Pigment, Looker, Tableau, or similar)
  • Familiarity with SaaS CRM and revenue data systems: HubSpot or Salesforce for pipeline analysis, billing platforms (Stripe, Zuora) for revenue recognition
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and its implications for business model design—excited to understand how Solstice's platform creates value and how that maps to pricing, expansion, and retention dynamics

Startup DNA:

  • Thrives in ambiguity and moves with urgency
  • Ownership mentality: treats the company's capital as their own, pushes for financial discipline across the org, and proactively flags risks before they become crises
  • Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable building from scratch: no existing playbook, no large team, no pre-built systems. You are the system, at least at first

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base & Variable:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance bonus: 15-25% annual target tied to company and individual milestones
  • Equity

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, vision insurance (premium coverage)
  • PTO (with minimum 2 weeks strongly encouraged)
  • Visa sponsorship (O-1, H1B) for international candidates
  • Relocation support for candidates moving

Career trajectory:

  • Clear path to VP Finance / CFO as company scales to $20M ARR
  • Opportunity to build and lead the full finance and accounting function within 18-24 months
  • Early equity stake positioning you for a life-changing outcome if Solstice achieves category leadership

Location & travel:

  • Location: New York City, In-Person 5-days Per Week in our Flatiron Office
  • Travel: Very small amount for investor meetings (if needed)

This role is for someone who wants to be the financial backbone of a company transforming one of the world's most complex and lucrative industries. If you want your fingerprints on every major decision as we build from startup to category leader, this is it.
