Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Behavior Technician role based in Shelton, CT, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Behavior Technician will implement individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or other licensed clinician. Daily responsibilities include working directly with children with ASD to teach new skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and collect accurate data on progress. The role involves following detailed behavior intervention protocols, preparing and organizing session materials, and documenting session notes in a timely and professional manner. The Behavior Technician will also collaborate with clinical supervisors and caregivers, participate in team meetings and training, and help maintain a supportive, respectful, and safe therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis, with the ability to consistently follow behavior intervention plans.
- Knowledge of Behavioral Intervention techniques and basic principles of Psychology relevant to working with children and families.
- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with children, caregivers, and clinical team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with children with developmental or behavioral needs in clinical, educational, or home settings is beneficial.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, write clear and objective session notes, and manage time and schedules reliably.
- Comfort with receiving feedback, participating in ongoing training, and adapting to changes in treatment plans and procedures.
- Capacity to meet the physical demands of the role, such as sitting on the floor, moving with children, and engaging in active play, with or without reasonable accommodation.
