Human Resources Manager
Our manufacturing client is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee both human resources and safety management responsibilities at their Spartanburg, SC plant. Manufacturing, safety and union experience is required.
Responsibilities of the Human Resources Manager
- Partner with the plant leadership team to align HR and safety strategies with overall business goals
- Serve as the primary HR contact for plant employees, providing guidance, support, and effective communication across all shifts
- Promote a positive employee relations environment by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, facilitating performance management, and overseeing investigations as needed
- Act as EH&S Coordinator and drive committees and quality team
- Lead employee engagement and communications initiatives, including newsletters, updates, and plant-wide meetings
- Support learning and development efforts by assessing training needs, creating programs, and delivering training that enhances skills and compliance
- Collaborate with the corporate HR team on policies, programs, and strategic initiatives
- Oversee safety and environmental health programs, ensuring compliance, driving committee participation, and reinforcing a culture of workplace safety
- Manage full-cycle talent acquisition for both salaried and hourly roles, from sourcing through onboarding
- Coordinate benefits, leaves of absence, FMLA, and workers’ compensation, as well as maintain employee records and HRIS systems
- Lead employee development initiatives including succession planning, career advancement, and coaching
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, corporate policies, and reporting requirements
- Perform additional HR and safety duties as required to support business operations
Requirements of the Human Resources Manager
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of human resources management experience
- MUST have manufacturing, safety and union experience
- Knowledge of federal, local, and state laws and regulations
- Professional certification a plus
Additional Details:
Salary: To $100k bonus
Employment Type: Direct Hire
