We are looking for a Packaging Engineer for a top fashion company in New York City. The Packaging Engineer is responsible for executing packaging development of design and display concepts within licensed & Private Label brand guidelines from concept through final approved “ready for press” files. Creative solutions must effectively communicate product attributes within brand guidelines and cost parameters. Problem solves obstacles or challenges to keep design work on track, including limited development time, construction, and cost engineering. This position will start immediately and will be fully on-site in their New York office.

Responsibilities:
- Manage package development requests from conception through launch. Package development includes primary, secondary and tertiary packaging designs.
- Responsible for qualifying packaging through line trials and various testing requirements.
- Creates and maintains project timelines to support the timely execution of each project.
- Works closely with Sales and Customers to develop new products through kick-off, development and status meetings.
- Interface with Operations, Lab, Quality, Customer Project Managers, and Estimating.
- Provide technical guidance for packaging, materials, and technologies.
- Active participation in identifying new and improved processes that will result in reduced turnaround time of the New Product Development Process.
- Responsible for qualifying new materials and components as part of the standard product offering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 - 4 years in proven package development project work/quality experience, preferably in the cosmetics, consumer goods or related field.
- Proficient in using Adobe CS, MS office,
- Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials, and information.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work independently, initiate and lead tasks within defined projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues properly.
- Assume lead role of special projects as needed.
