What are the responsibilities and job description for the Market Controller position at Solomon Page?
Our client is looking to fill the role of Market Controller. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the branch, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and adherence to financial regulations. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and managing multiple accountants and branches. This individual will start off working with 2 of the sites with the goal they will move to supporting all of Georgia over the next 18 months.

- Comp:$130k-$140k (based on experience) with full benefits and 401k and bonus
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the branch.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports to the regional controller.
- Reconcile balance sheets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to branch management.
- Manage cash flow to meet branch operational needs.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Supervise and support the branch accounting team.
- Provide training and professional development to finance staff
- Manage the branch’s annual budget.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Implement and maintain effective internal control systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and GAAP standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a branch or regional setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks and Intacct) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Okay with travel
