What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freelance Packaging Designer position at Solomon Page?
We are working on a packaging design role with an apparel company based in NYC. Role is onsite in their midtown office. Need help for a few weeks to start. Can come from consumer products, apparel and/or beauty industry as well.

- Location: NYC 5 days onsite
- Pay approximately $40-$45 an hour but may go up based on experience
- Underwear, sock and apparel packaging.
- Preparing production ready artwork for packaging
- Work with Packaging Team to conceptualize, develop and implement design strategies across print and digital communications
- Create and execute packaging & display mechanicals ready for press (rfp)
- Partner with all packaging designers to drive efficiency in the design and production file release process (packaging tech pack)
- Product Photo retouching & create renderings as needed for packaging/displays and product
- Mock up product displays for our retailers in advance of production in order to provide a visual representation of the final product
- Bachelors in related field packaging or communication design
- 3 years of experience in packaging design, and POS displays
- Portfolio that demonstrates packaging skills
- Strong sense of design, typography and color
- Experience with licensed branding and interoperating brand style guides
- Expert level Adobe Creative Suite skills required
- Strong creativity, conceptualization, execution, organization and design skills
- Strong knowledge of photography & photo re-touching
- PLM experience
