Our client, a leading social and creator-driven advertising agency, is seeking an Associate Creative Director to join their New York City team. This role sits at the intersection of brands and culture, leading creative thinking on complex, high-profile briefs across a variety of marketing channels powered by creators and influencers. The ideal candidate is a confident creative leader with a deep understanding of the creator landscape, a sharp eye for culture, and a relentless obsession with craft.

• This is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York City, reporting to the Senior Creative Director. Salary range: $140-170k
  
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead creative thinker on the agency's largest and most complex briefs across digital, social, and creator-led campaigns.
• Develop and articulate compelling, original creative solutions with full autonomy, operating across executional, conceptual, and business-level thinking.
• Collaborate with creators and talent to build content worlds — not just one-off posts — balancing clear creative direction with space for authentic creator voice.
• Identify the cultural hooks and subculture insights that make ideas take off, ensuring work is emotionally resonant and built to perform across the full advertising funnel.
• Qualify briefs for the creative team, interrogating them to uncover unseen opportunities and set up the conditions for creative success.
• Set creative direction and coach team members to develop their strongest ideas, identifying the core of their thinking and guiding further development.
• Manage a diverse team of creatives day-to-day, including career development conversations, objective setting, and performance management when needed.
• Advocate for creative effectiveness across the organization, proactively sharing strong work and empowering the broader team to raise the bar.
• Act as the senior creative voice with clients, building trusted relationships and presenting work with clarity and confidence.
• Lead client conversations around creative direction, feedback, and the evolution of ideas throughout the engagement.
• Maintain a clear understanding of the commercial impact of creative ideas, including cost, value, and scalability.
• Ensure creative solutions deliver against both brand and business objectives, identifying opportunities that add value and drive growth beyond the scope of the brief.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of experience in advertising, with a strong focus on digital, social, and creator-led campaigns.
• Proven track record of developing standout conceptual work that is culturally relevant and built to drive impact.
• Deep understanding of the creator and influencer landscape — who is shaping culture and how to collaborate with them effectively.
• Experience briefing and working with talent, balancing clear creative direction with creative freedom.
• Social-first mindset with a strong understanding of how ideas land across platforms from hook to execution.
• Proven ability to lead ideas from concept through final delivery while guiding teams through the same process.
• Experience ideating for experiential moments and events and connecting them back to social and content ecosystems.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — comfortable working alongside Strategy, Account, and Production.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across a variety of brands and categories.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to translate insights into actionable creative direction.
