Company Description SOLOMON CLINIC OF PLASTIC SURGERY, PLLC. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Charge Nurse (Registered Nurse) with PACU and Operating Room circulating experience to join our specialized Plastic Surgery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical recovery, demonstrate exceptional patient care skills, and be comfortable leading clinical operations across pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. Your clinical expertise and leadership will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive, high-quality care to our patients.
As a Charge Nurse, you will oversee daily clinical workflows, mentor nursing staff, and ensure that our facility maintains its high standards, including full compliance with QUAD A (AAAASF) accreditation. You’ll also be responsible for supporting patients through the entire surgical journey, from pre-op assessments to PACU recovery and safe discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee comprehensive pre-operative assessments to determine patient needs and readiness for surgery.
- Lead and participate in OR circulating duties, ensuring safe and efficient surgical procedures with adherence to sterile protocols.
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in the PACU, monitoring post-anesthesia recovery and managing acute symptoms.
- Coordinate and manage the patient discharge process, providing clear education and post-op care instructions to patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical status, promptly reporting changes to the healthcare team.
- Provide acute pain management, assist with airway support, and perform or assist with other clinical procedures as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and fully compliant OR environment, ensuring continued QUAD A (AAAASF) accreditation.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and behavioral health providers, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, surgical recovery expectations, and discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility standards.
- Act as a clinical leader by mentoring staff, coordinating schedules, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in both PACU and Operating Room circulating roles; prior charge nurse or leadership experience highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of pre-op, post-op, and critical care nursing protocols.
- Proficient in infection control, airway management, and pain and trauma care.
- Experience with Plastic Surgery is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a QUAD A-compliant surgical environment.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

Experience
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Previous experience in PACU at a surgical center is a must.
- Knowledge of physiology, infection control practices, and critical care protocols is essential.
- Familiarity with behavioral health issues and trauma medicine will be considered an asset.
