Position Summary

The primary focus of the Staff Accountant is to participate in the monthly closing process and provide support to the Accounting Manager, Controller and other senior management for special projects and supplementary reporting.

This position if fully onsite, Monday – Friday.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to:

Essential Functions And Duties

  • Assist with Accounts Payable tasks, such as processing vendor invoices, new vendor setup, 1099 filings, etc.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process
  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries
  • Prepare accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare accurate and timely bank account reconciliations
  • Assist with year-end audits
  • Assist with special departmental projects, as necessary
  • Supports the success of the organization by focusing on continuous improvements in business processes and preparation of internal control process documentation

Skills And Experience

  • 1 – 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Healthcare industry preferred, but not required
  • Strong excel experience (Pivot tables, Vlookups, Sumifs, Xlookups)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work overtime as required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

This work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed indoors. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. May be sitting for a prolonged period.

The work schedule is approximate, and hours/days may change based on company needs. All full-time employees are required to complete forty (40) hours per week as scheduled, including weekends and holidays as needed. May require some OT during varying seasons of the year.

The employee must be able to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
