What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Solimene & Secondo, LLP?
We are seeking a full time, experienced Paralegal to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a college degree and paralegal experience, a strong work ethic and be a team player.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drafting motions/pleadings, forms, correspondences, status reports
- Electronic filing (state and federal court systems, Workers' Compensation)
- Drafting Subpoenas and Deposition notices
- Preparing for Mediations, Trials, and Formal Hearings
- Managing court docket calendar and Trial list
- Transcribe dictations and prepare summaries
- Manage file documents
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Drafting medical indexes, chronologies, and preparing medical packets
Skills/Experience required:
- 1-3 years experience, knowledge of insurance defense, Workers' Compensation and civil litigation preferred
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of CT superior court e-services, PACER, motions, discovery process, evidence, litigation documents, court rules and procedures
- Ability to transcribe accurately and efficiently
- Proficient Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel), Adobe and typing skills
- Experience in legal drafting and preparing legal correspondence
