Sr Platform Linux (FEP) Engineer-TS/SCI w/ Poly

This position requires an active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus is hiring a Senior. Platform Linux – (Front End Processor (FEP) Engineer). The Ideal candidate will be well versed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) based environments, have a good understanding of traditional on premises Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) infrastructure systems to design, develop, and maintain the program’s FEP equipment used as the interface between satellite command and control systems and Ground Terminal (GT) equipment.

This is an on-site role based in Aurora, CO. Some travel (up to 10%) to customer sites may be required to support deployed systems / configurations and testing.

Day In The Life

• Support design, development, and implementation of traditional computer/network/storage systems for this effort. This includes getting familiar with existing operating systems and existing server hardware designs to emulate what is needed in the FEP environment
• Leverage the company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with design, development, implementation, and support of the on-premises Front End Processor (FEP) solution, to include Software-based FEPs (SoftFEP) or hardware-based appliance FEPs implementations
• Configure & implement Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) scripts to manage the configuration and troubleshoot the FEP
• Design, implement, generate code through scripting tools, test, document, and maintain the system
• Assist with the development of test and integration configurations, optimizing FEP performance across the environment
• Provide guidance on FEP resource allocation & utilization
• Assist engineers with tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices
• Configure and manage network connectivity for the FEP system
• Operate FEP hardware / software diagnostic tools
• Set up and configure the FEP software simulator tools
• Provide support for maintenance & test activities for the factory and within operational facilities
  
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• US Citizen with a active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance
• Undergo a comprehensive background investigation
• BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and 5 years of related work experience
• Thorough background in on premise RHEL Based infrastructure design
• Experience designing an integrated system that includes network, computer, and specialized FEP equipment
• Experience with configuring and maintaining Common Cryptographic equipment in a secure environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Experience with verification and hardening IT systems in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Extensive Linux CLI development experience
• Network designs and implementation
• Experience with the Agile development lifecycle and SAFe agile processes
• Broad experience with automated infrastructure testing of large systems
• Using and configuring hardware (e.g., setting up system network time protocol)
• Experience with Cryptologic Equipment configuration and maintenance
• Experience with systems and hardware testing
  
  

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.

Full benefits: $122,000 to $153,000 annually

Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $165,000 annually
