Job Overview
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support enterprise-level aviation, transportation, and technical modernization efforts. This role provides cybersecurity engineering and information assurance support across the system lifecycle, including security requirements development, architecture design, risk management, authorization support, integration, monitoring, and sustainment.
The ideal candidate has deep experience applying cybersecurity principles in complex technical environments and is comfortable supporting the evolution of legacy systems into secure, modernized architectures.
This is a remote role with occasional travel to customer or partner sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform cybersecurity requirements analysis, definition, and validation, including security controls, privacy, resilience, and interface considerations.
- Support the development of cybersecurity architecture artifacts, technical documentation, and security plans to guide system design and program decisions.
- Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, threat analyses, and gap analyses to support engineering and operational recommendations.
- Support system authorization and lifecycle security activities, including review of security documentation and risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist with the integration, testing, and validation of security controls and cybersecurity capabilities.
- Contribute to identification, analysis, and resolution of cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, government stakeholders, and industry partners to ensure cybersecurity objectives are met.
- Apply cybersecurity engineering methods, frameworks, and best practices to ensure systems meet security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Support continuous monitoring, assessment, and improvement of system cybersecurity posture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 15 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, information assurance, or enterprise security roles supporting complex technical systems.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity activities across the system lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, authorization, and operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (minimum of 3 years).
- Ability to obtain FAA security suitability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience supporting FAA systems, the National Airspace System (NAS), or other large-scale government or transportation programs.
- Experience supporting the modernization of legacy systems and transition to secure, service-based or cloud-based architectures.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity risk management frameworks, security standards, and compliance processes.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems engineering, data management, or safety risk management in complex environments.
- Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security , or equivalent) are a plus.
