Situated on a 14-acre site in Berk’s County, this 75,000 square foot facility accepts all items capable of being recycled. TotalRecycle is the only facility of this magnitude in the area.  With its beautiful infrastructure, the complex looks more like a resort than a recycling plant.

Our recycling center located in Birdsboro, PA is looking for a reliable, motivated and hardworking Yard Jockey who plays a critical role on the solid waste collection team to support our ongoing success in a family-like company environment while safely and responsibility running company equipment.

What You Will Do:

• Drive tractor trailers and other commercial vehicles on site to facilitate loading and staging of trailers/trucks.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the truck.
• Operate the truck in accordance with all local, state and federal DOT regulations, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.  
• Verify loading is performed to proper weight.
• Maintain any related records required, i.e. work orders, special request work, Vehicle Condition Reports, Pre-Trip inspections, etc.
• Keep trucks and surrounding work areas in a clean condition to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations to include cab.  
• Report any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report and report it immediately to the station or operations manager.
• May be required to drive other vehicles for which properly trained and qualified.
• Immediately reports to the company and accident, traffic violation, or license suspension.
• Special projects and other job duties as assigned.
   

Qualifications

What You Have:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening.  As a safety sensitive employee, all drivers are subject to random substance abuse screening under DOT and company policy.
• Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.
• Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods.  Able to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted repeatedly through a typical work shift.   
• Able to perform manual labor jobs between jockeying.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
• May be required to exit and enter truck multiple times during a shift and may be required to push/pull wheeled containers weighing up to several hundred pounds into position for pick up.
