A well-established and growing civil defense litigation firm is seeking an attorney with 3–7 years of professional liability and/or insurance defense experience to join its Wilmington office. Responsibilities:
- Manage professional liability and civil defense litigation matters with increasing independence
- Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances
- Develop litigation strategy and communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and experts
- Prepare and argue motions in state and federal court
- Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation, strategy development, and evidentiary analysis
- Provide exceptional client service through clear and proactive communication
Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina law license in good standing
- 3–7 years of civil defense litigation experience
- Professional liability and/or insurance defense experience preferred
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy experience
- Ability to independently manage an active caseload
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive and professional approach to litigation
