Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Driver to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children and seniors, using various types of vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, and vans. Duties

• Safely operate commercial vehicles including school buses, transit buses, and vans in accordance with all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations
• Transport passengers of all ages, including children and seniors, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey
• Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding and disembarking, providing wheelchair assistance as needed
• Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary
• Maintain discipline and manage passenger behavior to ensure a safe environment onboard
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before each route
• Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected delays, adjusting routes efficiently to meet schedule requirements
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, passengers, and team members using clear language in English or multilingual formats when necessary
• Uphold child care policies and student discipline protocols during school-related transportation duties
• Complete detailed logs, incident reports, and shift documentation accurately and promptly

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport (e.g., P endorsement for passenger vehicles)
• Proven experience driving buses or vans in a professional setting, preferably with school or transit services
• Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and state/local commercial driving laws
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely
• Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
• Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; knowledge of emergency stop procedures is essential
• Experience working with children or seniors is preferred; familiarity with behavior management techniques is advantageous
• Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and emergency situations with calmness and professionalism
• Understanding of child care policies, student discipline procedures, and teaching basics related to passenger safety
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and passenger safety at all times
