What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic Job Opportunity position at SOLID Personnel?
We are seeking Mechanics to maintain and repair all HVAC, Hydronic, and other utility equipment in a 24hr production facility to ensure reliable service to all areas of the site. Systems include: Chilled water, Heating water, Compressed Air, Medium Voltage Electrical distribution, VOC abatement, chemical delivery, and chemical recovery systems.
This is for a graveyard shift 5:30pm - 5:30am / (2) schedules - First (Sun, Mon, Tue & every other Wed) Second (Every Other Wed, TH, Fri & Sat)
- Maintain and repair compressors, cooling towers, loading docks and plates
- Repair broken or defective machine parts, using welding and brazing tools
- Align equipment by using specialized tools (e.g. micrometer, plumb bobs)
- Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals
- Transfer machines to several sites, either to install them or repair them
- Disassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them, and reassemble the parts
- Collaborate with construction workers or engineers when using the machines
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with construction equipment and machinery
- Availability to travel regularly to different sites
- Strong communication and computational skills
- Must be able to pass background check
