Our Seacoast, New Hampshire contract machine shop specializes in 5-axis milling and CNC turning to provide high-quality manufacturing solutions to the automotive, industrial, and aerospace sectors.
We are looking for a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling. You will play a crucial part in ensuring precision and quality in our machining processes, directly contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional manufacturing solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and run multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling to manufacture precision parts.
- Update set-up sheets and tool lists for efficient machine operations.
- Experience with test runs of programs to ensure the process is capable and meets specifications.
- Manually edit existing programs as needed.
- Inspect parts using various quality inspection tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and machine parameters for efficient production.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed for quality control.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and machinery issues.
- Maintain and clean the machine and workspace, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
- Lead operators and other machinists to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, identifying areas for process optimization and waste reduction.
- Understand, maintain, and execute Quality Policies and Procedures.
- Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC lathe set-up.
- Proficiency in multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tool selection.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (i.e. read, write and communicate in English effectively).
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have working knowledge of various PC applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
Education and Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is preferred.
- Relevant certifications, such as CNC Machinist is preferred.
Hours:
- Full-time position; Monday – Friday
- 6:30am – 3:00pm
