Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to telemetry patients, including post-op cardiac cases such as open heart surgery, TAVRs, ablations, and pacemaker monitoring.
- Manage and interpret telemetry data accurately with the expectation to assess strips twice per shift.
- Administer and titrate set drips including cardiac gtts, amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine; occasional heparin and insulin titration may be required (insulin training provided).
- Float between the 3rd and 7th floors as needed, supporting a combined telemetry pool.
- Collaborate effectively with charge nurses, respiratory therapists, CNAs, and remote telemetry techs.
- Participate in scheduling with up to 5 consecutive shifts possible, including 5-6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule and potential holiday shifts.
- Minimum 2 years telemetry nursing experience with strong post-procedural cardiac skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry and cardiac rhythms.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and float between units and sister facilities.
- 12-hour shifts (7a-7p).
- Schedule made 6 weeks in advance with some flexibility to fill staffing gaps.
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
