Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored educational support and instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials that meet the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies to promote academic success.
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff to ensure accessible learning environments.
- Utilize specialized technology and resources pertinent to Deaf education.
- Split teaching responsibilities between Prairie Point Elementary and Churchill Elementary, ensuring consistency and continuity of services.
- Certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or teacher.
- Previous experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies tailored to hearing-impaired learners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel and families.
- Flexibility to manage a split schedule between two elementary schools.
