Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications in compliance with Federal and State laws
- Advise healthcare staff on drug therapy and provide patient education
- Manage and select appropriate drug inventory
- Participate in pharmacy quality improvement activities
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in patient care
- Pharm.D. degree with active licensure as a registered pharmacist in Alaska; candidates with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree licensed prior to 2003 and 3 years of hospital/ambulatory clinic pharmacy experience will also be considered
- Current Alaska pharmacist license is mandatory
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Hospital pharmacy experience is required; completion of an ASHP-recognized residency is preferred
- Must possess strong pharmaceutical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in computer applications
- Ability to calculate precise medication dosages and adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Must have received flu vaccination prior to start date
- Fingerprinting process must be completed 6 weeks prior to assignment start date to avoid delays
