Speech Language Pathologist in Ashland, VA

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available at an elementary school serving students from pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. This contract role spans a full school year, offering approximately 37.5 hours per week with a consistent daily schedule from 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM. The position is based in Ashland, VA, with a caseload of around 40 to 50 students.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in children aged PK-5
• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each students needs
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of therapy sessions and student outcomes
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Current state license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in an educational setting
• Skills in working with diverse caseloads including speech, language, and communication disorders in young children
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with school staff and families
• Ability to manage a caseload of mid-40s students while maintaining quality of care
