Our school district in Allentown, PA is seeking a motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) to join their team for the upcoming school year. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative educational setting with structured mentorship.
Position Overview
- Full-time, Monday–Friday (35–40 hours/week)
- Onsite position serving K–12 students (assignment based on preference/need)
- Supervision and mentorship provided by a licensed SLP to support CF completion
- Contract for the full school year with potential for renewal
Caseload Details
- Diverse caseload of approximately 40–60 students (may vary by site)
- Mild to moderate communication needs, including:
- Articulation & phonological disorders
- Language delays (receptive/expressive)
- Social/pragmatic communication
- Fluency and voice disorders
- Some exposure to AAC and students with autism or developmental delays
- Responsibilities include:
- Conducting evaluations and re-evaluations
- Developing and implementing IEP goals
- Providing direct therapy services (individual & small group)
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintaining compliant documentation
Pennsylvania State Requirements (SLP-CF)
To work as a Clinical Fellow in Pennsylvania, candidates must:
- Hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Obtain a Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certificate (Instructional I) through the Pennsylvania Department of Education
- Apply for a temporary license (CF) through the Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
- Complete required background checks:
- FBI Fingerprinting
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA Criminal History Check
- Secure a supervising SLP for Clinical Fellowship (provided by district/contracting agency)
