Special Education Teacher in Warwick, RI

This opening is for a full-time 5th grade Special Education Teacher position in Warwick, RI, designed to support diverse learners through both resource and co-teaching models. The role includes delivering specialized instruction in reading and writing to a caseload of approximately 9 students, with services extending to 15-17 students. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one period of resource instruction tailored to individual student needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers for 3 to 4 periods of co-teaching or push-in support.
• Create and implement IEPs and individualized learning plans aligning with student goals.
• Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
• Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid Rhode Island teaching license with special education certification.
• Willingness to obtain a National Background Check and Investigation (BCI).
