- Two secondary intensive needs teaching assignments (grades 9–post secondary, self-contained, caseload ~10)
- One middle school intensive needs role (grades 6–8, self-contained, caseload ~10)
- One unique half-time special education/half-time general education position in an elementary multi-grade classroom at a remote, fly-in school—ideal for educators craving adventure and community impact
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or closely related field
- Valid Alaska Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience educating students with intensive needs highly desirable
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Flexibility and a collaborative mindset are essential, especially for roles with variable or combined responsibilities
- Experience working in self-contained and inclusive settings preferred
- Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with a range of abilities
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in both self-contained and general education environments
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, support staff, families, and related service providers
- Foster supportive, inclusive classroom communities that promote growth and achievement for all learners
