Special Education Teacher - Bamberg, SC

An opportunity is available for dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in a K-12 school setting. This contract position is based in Bamberg, SC, within Barnwell County, approximately 45 minutes east of Aiken/Augusta. The school district is seeking qualified professionals for the 2026-2027 school year to fill three full-time roles, with placements including:

• Self-contained primary classroom for grades 2-6 at Barnwell Primary
• Resource teaching positions at Barnwell Elementary and Williston Elko Middle/High School
  
  

Responsibilities include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with general education staff to support student progress, and delivering tailored instruction to meet varied learning needs. Attention to behavioral and social development is also essential to foster a supportive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience with self-contained and resource teaching settings for primary and middle/high school levels
• Ability to assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Willingness to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
