Social Worker in Des Plaines, IL

Provide essential social work services in an elementary school setting, supporting students from kindergarten through fifth grade during a leave of absence. This full-time, contracted role spans from February to April, with the possibility of extending services into the high school setting from April through May, depending on scheduling needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive social work support to elementary students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement intervention plans.
• Conduct assessments, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.
• Facilitate referrals to community resources and support services.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school policies and professional standards.
  
  

Desired Qualifications And Experience

• Licensed Social Worker credential with experience in school settings.
• Strong understanding of child development and K-5 educational environments.
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse student populations, families, and staff.
• Experience in crisis management and conflict resolution.
