An immediate opening is available for a Social Worker in a therapeutic special education setting located in Burbank, Illinois. This position is full-time, offering consistent hours from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM during the school year, with the potential to continue into the next academic year based on program growth.
This role supports students in autism programs, including those with lower cognitive and intellectual abilities as well as some nonverbal students. The Social Worker will provide essential assistance in developing individualized plans and interventions that address the unique needs of these students to promote their social and emotional well-being.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct social work support to students in therapeutic special education environments
- Collaborating with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
- Assisting with behavioral assessments and monitoring student progress
- Supporting students’ social, emotional, and developmental needs within the program framework
- Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with all licensure requirements
Desired qualifications:
- Valid social work license, certification, or Professional Educator License (PEL) applicable to school social work
- Experience working with students with autism and developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and individualized education plans (IEPs)
