Sign Language Interpreter Needed

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Soliant is working with a reputable school district seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter on a per diem contract basis to provide crucial communication support. This role involves working intermittently, approximately four times per school year, to assist students and staff in fully accessing and participating in educational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all educational settings.
• Adapt interpretation methods to suit various age groups and learning environments.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification or equivalent credentials preferred.
• Experience working as a sign language interpreter within K-12 educational settings.
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and educational accommodations.
• Ability to work independently and respond flexibly to scheduling needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• EIPA score of 4.0
