A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students across a public school setting. This contract position will start as soon as possible and continue through June 19, 2026. The interpreter will provide essential communication access in classrooms with varying grade levels and diverse learning environments.
Location: Derry, NH
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (35 hours/week, Monday through Friday)
Assignment Duration: Current School Year through June 19, 2026
Student Population: K-12, multiple classrooms with varying ages and educational needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate effective communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and instructional staff by providing sign language interpretation services in classroom settings.
- Support access to curriculum and participation in school activities across all grade levels.
- Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure communication needs are met.
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license required.
- National certification is highly preferred; however, an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.8 or above will be accepted.
- Written EIPA certification required.
- Must be available to work onsite exclusively.
