An onsite contract opportunity is available for a skilled School Nurse, working Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, from July 6 through July 30. In this essential role, you'll be the primary healthcare resource for students, helping to create a nurturing environment where learning and development thrive.
Key qualifications include:
- Active LPN or RN license in Pennsylvania
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Educational Specialist Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certifications
- At least 3–5 years of relevant nursing experience, ideally in pediatrics or school settings
As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll:
- Evaluate and address student illnesses and minor injuries, providing effective first aid
- Deliver preventive health services, promoting physical and emotional well-being
- Offer guidance to students, parents/guardians, and staff on school health matters
- Communicate proactively with families regarding student health concerns
- Maintain thorough and confidential health records
- Promote a safe school environment by implementing consistent health protocols
