School Psychologist in Cranston, RI

A contract position is available for a School Psychologist to support high school students in grades 9-12 at a school in Cranston, RI. This role focuses on providing direct counseling services and conducting evaluations to address a variety of social-emotional, behavioral, and cognitive needs. The anticipated start date is November 25, with a six-week duration and the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct counseling services to approximately 20 students, addressing social-emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges
• Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments
• Participate in meetings with staff, students, and families to develop individualized support plans
• Collaborate closely with school staff to support student success and well-being
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to evaluations and counseling
  
  

Qualifications

• Professional experience as a School Psychologist
• Familiarity with high school student populations and the specific needs of adolescents in grades 9-12
• Ability to manage a caseload that includes direct counseling, evaluations, and participation in multidisciplinary meetings
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and school personnel
• Flexibility to accommodate a schedule with at least three days per week onsite, mainly aligning with school hours from 7:00 AM to 2:05 PM, with some flexibility as needed

• Onsite presence preferred at a high school in Cranston, RI
• Opportunities to participate in some meetings virtually if necessary
• Contract role covering an anticipated six-week leave period, starting 11/25, with potential for extension
