A school-based social work opportunity is available for two full-time Social Workers in Belen, NM. This contract position requires professionals licensed by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) and state to provide essential social services to students and families within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with educators, families, and community resources
- Provide crisis intervention and counseling services to students
- Advocate for student welfare and assist with access to external social service programs
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to promote student success and well-being
Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico PED and state social work license required
- Experience working as a school social worker strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and school staff
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Knowledge of community resources and referral protocols
