This contract position is designed for a dedicated Registered Nurse with Certified School Nurse credentials, ready to provide expert oversight throughout the 26/27 academic year. With a flexible commitment of 10 hours per month, you’ll ensure students receive the proper care and documentation is fully compliant.

Key Qualifications

• Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation RN license
• Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement
• Experience in school health services or a similar environment
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret physician orders confidently
  
  

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor and verify that campus-level health procedures are implemented consistently
• Complete thorough file reviews, confirming all physician orders for medication administration are current and accurate
• Conduct regular audits to ensure medication inventories match prescribed quantities and that all medications available are within expiration dates
• Review and update seizure, allergy, and asthma action plans, ensuring that protocols are accessible and emergency medications are non-expired
• Consult with school staff as needed to maintain compliance with health regulations and best practices for student safety
