A healthcare facility in Caldwell, ID is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a contract assignment. This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and NICU settings in an inpatient environment. Candidates will work primarily on night shifts with a schedule of 3 twelve-hour shifts.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 3-5 years experience also considered
- Minimum 2-3 years experience for RRTs, 3-5 years for CRTs
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS for adults; BLS and PALS for pediatrics; BLS and NRP for NICU
- Proficient in caring for adult, pediatric, and NICU patients; must be able to perform treatments on these populations
- Experience with NAVA ventilator settings on Servo U vents required for NICU assignments
- Able to assist with intubation; independent intubation not required
- Comfortable managing respiratory therapy equipment, treatments, patient transport, and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Able to float to nearby medical centers as needed
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 36-42 treatments per 12-hour shift, or 12-14 treatments every 4 hours
- Provide respiratory care including use of Draeger vents for adults and Servo U vents for pediatrics
- Administer therapies using devices such as V60 BiPAPs, Vapotherm high flow, Optiflow, Philips Cough Assist, and Hill-Rom devices
- Collaborate with respiratory leads and on-site intensivists and hospitalists
- Participate in unit-specific orientations and ongoing competency training
