This 12-hour shift contract role involves nursing care in a busy, team-oriented environment that supports a diverse patient population, including cardiac, post-surgical, and acute or chronic disease cases.
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care on Med/Surg and Telemetry units—each ranging from 20 to 36 beds. You will manage patient care coordination, perform assessments, administer medications and drips (including insulin, heparin, Cardizem, and amiodarone), monitor cardiac rhythms, and educate patients. Competency in trach care, chest tube management, IV starts, discharge planning, and interpreting telemetry is essential. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and critical time management skills are necessary. You will float among Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed.

Qualifications / Desired Experience
- Current RN license with at least 2 years Med/Surg and telemetry nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Certification in med-surg nursing a plus
- Proficiency in telemetry cardiac rhythm monitoring and drip titrations
- Strong critical thinking, patient education, and discharge planning skills
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam during orientation
- 12-hour shifts (7A–7P or 7P–7A)
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekends per 12 shifts on a 6-week cycle
- Work one major holiday per holiday period (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- No on-call duties
